Jason Sloan is an electronic musician, composer, video and sound artist practicing in Baltimore, Md. He has released over twenty solo studio albums, and has been included on multiple various artist collections.

In 2011 Jason began working under the moniker L’Avenir. This project explores Sloan’s long time love of dark synth, cold wave and electronic music created purely from analog, digital, modular and vintage synthesizer hardware. He has released albums on Barcelona’s Cold Beats Records, Germany’s EINS:ZWEI:ACHT, Minimalkombinat, Single Speed Tapes and Beläten in Sweden. L’Avenir continues to release music, perform live around the world and has now become Sloan’s main creative project.

Sloan is Chair of the Interactive Arts and Sound Art program and a professor teaching sound, electronic music, video and interactive media at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD.
